PARA-PENTIUMII
Click on thumbnails to expand the pictures. Above picture is that of one of my latest RC-models project. It is a 6cc. methanol powered buggy that sails under a high performance "parapente shaped" kite. This project is a co-production from me (rc-pilot and model-airplane builder) and my collegue Emiel, (homepage: http://fly.to/kitejunk ) who's hobby is kiting. After some sigarbox arithmatic Emiel designed the kite, using high-tec meterials as dacron, spinaker cloth and dyneema fiber. The picture is taken at the first try-out in which the craft crashed (not severe). Not behaving like normal airplanes, I am forced to keep power at maximum until at great hight for this craft, for it needs some hight to get lift after throtteling it down. Finally I came to a few succesful flights this month June, at our yearly flightcamp in Assen (yes the biking circuit) but steering was not so good. The machine uses a 'self-modified' servo that kan continious turn at left/right stick movement. But it was not strong enough. There is a video of succesful flights, but no avi (yet). At this time the kite is being extended 1/2 meter in width for decreased descending speed and I am building a more powerful proportional self-returning pully for steering. |
