The Hovercraft experiment The airfield I am used to fly my models is not near by. This made me think about a gadget to operate more close to the home. Why not try to build me a model Hovercraft? This is the raw model getting its final shape I used a 7.5 cc motor, prop facing up so the thrust is going downwards. No need for a push prop then :-) This is the final drive, giving it foreward thrust. This is an 4 cc engine with push prop.
Name of the craft: Tie Wrap II
How about its flying ? ......... First test flight was no success, Main engine did fire, and seemed to have enough power to lift the craft. Propulsion engine did fire and seemed to have enough power to drive it. I failed to get both engines running at same time and also, I became a bit scared to get injured by one of the props, while starting the other. So... I will dismantle this one and redesign it ELECTRO based. (See the Griffon page!) |
